Shirley Foster is an accomplished civil litigator delivering cogent legal analysis and successful strategic recommendations to commercial and private casualty clientele. Shirley provides over two decades of Nevada civil litigation experience defending first-party and third-party property and casualty liability claims. Before joining the firm, Ms. Foster gained valuable professional experience defending corporate entities, proprietors and insurance carriers as an associate attorney with AmLaw 100 law firms and as a liability staff counsel for a national insurance carrier. She has advised insurance carriers and Lloyd’s of London marketplace professionals regarding insurance coverage issues and defended against extra contractual bad faith claims. Also, as former Insurance Counsel for the Nevada Division of Insurance, Shirley prosecuted insurance fraud and represented the Division in enforcement, regulatory compliance and administrative law matters.  

While accomplishing her Master of Laws in Insurance Law degree, Shirley earned the CALI Excellence Award in Liability Insurance. While earning her Juris Doctorate degree, Shirley served as an associate editor on law review and managing articles editor for an international law journal. She served a judicial externship with the Oregon Supreme Court. She completed summer clerkships with an international barrister’s group in London, England and with the United States Attorney’s Office, Civil Division in San Diego, California. Shirley has published her scholarly legal articles in several law journals.

Ms. Foster defends bodily injury and real property loss claims, and handles commercial, business and landlord/tenant disputes. She offers significant experience with depositions, summary judgment motions, arbitrations and mediations. She has second-chaired Nevada civil jury trials. Ms. Foster has managed litigated matters from inception to resolution arising from complex torts, premises liability, general liability, construction projects and contract disputes. She also has experience with transportation, eminent domain and inverse condemnation matters.
